This was my capstone project. For this project I wanted to create something that would improve the lives of cyclist in the city. Through my research I found out that people want infrastructure improvements so I came up with an upgrade for the current LinkNYC terminals that will help people make quick repairs on their commuting bikes and include an app to give cyclist information about various events around the city. In addition the app also includes tutorials and bike shop contact information incase the repair is too complicated for the user to attempt.

LinkNYC Improvement Project

These are some 3D mockups that I created to showcase the improvements that I designed for the LinkNYC terminal. Features of the terminal include an universal mounting system for bikes of all types and tool access. I also designed this so the upgrade can easily be applied to existing terminals.

The most interesting aspect is the mounting system which would only require removal of the front plate from the terminal to install. The clamp would allow people to clamp the bike on the top tube which most bikes have. If the bike does not have a top tube then there is an universal seat clamp mount which ensures any type of commuter bike can be mounted onto the terminal.
